The Telluride Jazz Festival and the Telluride Society for Jazz offers all attendees, volunteers, staff, partners and artists a special thank you. We had an outstanding festival and it wouldn't be possible without you! Let’s do it again next year, August 12-14, 2022.
Start your Telluride Jazz Festival mornings off with pleasant live jazz music, coffee and breakfast at the Phoenix Bean. Morning Jam will offer a jazzy wake-up to a full day of music Saturday and Sunday of the Festival. Attendees can enjoy performance lead by Jack Kotz and Bob Hemenger, along with a variety of breakfast dishes, baked goods and coffee drinks from the Phoenix Bean in the heart of downtown Telluride, steps away from the “Society Stage” at Elks Park and minutes away from the Telluride Town Park Main Stage. Musicians are welcome and encouraged to join in on the jam for an improvisational performance to get their day swinging. The jam will be will be first come first play, with a sign up sheet. The music-jams will go from 9 to 10am (MT) both Saturday August 14 and Sunday August 15 and is open to the public.

In response to the growing threat of the delta variant, and in addition to the measures we already have in place, proof of full vaccination or proof of a negative Covid-19 test will now be required for all festival entry. This is an important safety precaution implemented to protect our festival attendees, staff, artists, vendors, volunteers and community members. We are doing this to protect YOU and your fellow music lovers. The music industry collectively wants to continue to be able to bring music to you and is urging events to adopt these safety protocols, even when local or state regulations do not require it. Your cooperation and participation is appreciated. For those unvaccinated, free testing will be available on-site. Refunds will NOT be granted as a result of this new health screening policy so do your part by protecting yourself leading up to the festival.
The original artwork piece behind the 2021 Telluride Jazz Festival poster is now on auction! For this year's poster art, painter Ann Krasner's source of inspiration was the vibrant mix of the view seen on Colorado Avenue, "Main Street", in downtown Telluride featuring the town's charming Victorian-era homes, paired with a colorful and funky depiction of jazz musicians. Distinguished in mountain festival luxury, the Telluride Jazz Festival features a special opening concert with The Hot Sardines at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Thursday, August 12, 2021. In previous years, this opening concert was reserved exclusively for Patron pass-holders but this year, we are opening up the experience so that everyone can participate and kick off the festival in style. Join us for what is sure to be an unforgettable performance and a show that you won’t want to miss. Tickets for the show are $20 and on sale now. Access to the concert is already included in the Patron Pass.
As a nod to the historic jazz culture of the Crescent City, we’ll be hosting our annual Second Line Parade down Main Street all the way to Telluride Town Park on Sunday, August 15 at noon. Join Bonerama along with The Hooligans Brass Band, the Festival staff, attendees, and festival artists for a celebratory kick-off to the final day of the 2021 Telluride Jazz Festival. The parade starts at 12 pm from Elks Park (located across from the courthouse on Colorado Avenue).

Kick off the Telluride Jazz Festival in style with “Jazz On Main”. On Thursday, August 12 from 4-6 pm in the heart of historic downtown Telluride, five venues will host live jazz bands setting a elegant, chic ambiance on Telluride’s Main Street. Jazz On Main is free and open to the public.
The late night scene at the Telluride Jazz Festival keeps the music and party going into the deep hours of the evening with the dynamic Jazz After Dark format, and The Final Waltz closing show. Guided by professional instructor Julie Johnston, enjoy a smooth yoga flow at the free “First Note” Yoga Sessions. Learn activating breath techniques, liberating movements and playful exercises in the crisp mountain morning air. Nestled in the cozy amphitheater of Elks Park in downtown Telluride, the yoga sessions are a fun and inspiring way to start your mornings.
Discover the past on Saturday morning at the Historical Walking Tour presented by the Telluride Historical Museum. Presenter and long-time resident Ashley Boling will guide visitors through Telluride’s storied past and celebrated landmarks. Walking Tour registrations are free; however, space is limited. After Galactic featuring Anjelika Jelly Joseph closes down the Main Stage, the festival concludes with a special performance by the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Sheridan Opera House.
